For those of you who have Heart Warriors, the book starts on April 10th – super ironic since that’s the day it launched, and the first chapter ends on April 12, today. Six years ago right now, I left the CICU as Liam headed to the ER. Like right now, it was still light outside. It was after 10:00 pm before we saw him again. He almost died that day. That would have been a very different book.
But, Liam lived. He lives. He’s playing out Pokemon battles in his head right now instead of eating his dinner, and that’s ok. I owe the state $919 for taxes, and that’s ok too. Life is good, and that’s the point of the book. Today is the beginning of the rest of our lives. Tomorrow, I have my first signing event in Edwards at the Bookworm. I’m excited about it. I’ll be in Grand Junction on Sunday afternoon – tell your friends!
For those of you who don’t have Heart Warriors please consider getting it from this charity auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Autographed-Heart-Warriors-DG12-/200744788850?pt=US_Nonfiction_Book&hash=item2ebd526372 This is a great charity that raises money to pay for heart surgeries for kids in countries like China and Korea. I first heard about Love Without Boundaries last year when I donated some money to help a little girl the same age as Liam get her heart surgery in China. So, you can win twice by bidding – you’ll get a signed copy of my book, and your money will help a child in need get life-saving or life-altering surgery. If you already have your copy of Heart Warriors, look around the rest of their auction for other great treasures. Remember, life is good.
