September 2012: Cause Warriors The Aurora 400
I do not have a single Cause Warrior for September, instead I have more than 400 of them. These people represented CHD in Colorado, they showed up, all 400 + of them at General’s Park on August 25th, oh so early in the morning. Some of them were on the planning committee, some of them showed up to put up tents, some of them came to walk. They all stayed and made the day amazing. Jim’s parents waited with us until the tents and trash cans were picked up!
With these 400 + people we raised over $25,000 to combat Congenital Heart Disease through the combined efforts of The Children’s Heart Foundation and the Adult Congenital Heart Association. Two years ago, we had 130 people show up for the first ever Congenital Heart Walk in Colorado. One year ago we had about 300. The first year we raised $10,000. Last year we raised $17,000.
We rocked that walk! So, September, you’re special. You get not one cause warrior, but 400.
Enjoy these pictures taken by my mom Deb Finke and my sister Megan McAlexander. And thanks to the fabulous 400! You made a difference.
If you know a great candidate for October’s Cause Warrior, please contact me!
Oh I know a great Cause Warrior for October…those of us walking in Cleveland! We will be getting up bright and early and talking our one mile walk and enjoying being in the company of so many great families. This is our second Walk and we are hoping to raise $50,000…we still have a long way to go, but I am hopeful we will get there this year.
Congratulations on your Walk!!! You all did amazing and everyone looks like they had a great time!
Great news!Your efforts are paying off.
